Allegiance Capital Corporation Facilitates Majority Acquisition of IMS by Trinity Hunt Partners

Allegiance Capital Corporation, a Dallas-based private investment bank, announced today that it assisted Trinity Hunt Partners in sourcing its acquisition of a majority interest in IMS ExpertServices of Pensacola, Fla.
Trinity Hunt Partners is a middle-market private equity firm with more than $670 million under management.
IMS is a full-service provider of expert witness search and placement services for attorneys involved in high-stakes litigation.
“I believe there’s a strong synergistic fit between Trinity Hunt and IMS, and it was my pleasure to facilitate the relationship between them,” said Allegiance Capital Senior Vice President Christian Wolford. He and Vice President Ryan Duschak were the Allegiance investment bankers on the transaction.
“IMS CEO Bill Wein and Chief Strategy Officer Ted Gorder, along with Bill’s father, Mike Wein, have built the company into a leader in the expert witness search industry,” added Wolford. “Trinity Hunt has developed expertise in litigation services through several platform acquisitions, so the two firms were a great match from the beginning. I look forward to the evolution in their partnership and to their joint future success.”
“We are excited to partner with Bill and Ted and the exceptional team they have built at IMS,” said Pete Stein, Managing Partner of Trinity Hunt, in the firm’s announcement of the transaction. “Following many years of leadership from Bill’s father, Mike Wein, the company has experienced tremendous growth. IMS’s historical financial performance is a testament to the quality of the service offering the company has delivered to its client base, which includes all of the AM Law Top 100 law firms. We plan to build upon these core competencies and ensure that IMS continues to be the premier expert witness provider for top law firms in the U.S.”
Bill Wein of IMS, who will remain CEO and a shareholder in the business, said: “In seeking a partner, we were attracted to Trinity Hunt’s prior and current investment experience in the legal services industry. Their resources and strategic approach will create value that allows us to expand our reach while providing the same best-in-class client and expert experience upon which IMS was founded.”
Senior debt was provided by Freeport Financial. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
